Accessibility Knowledge Center

About the Project

We are pleased to announce that the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow has launched the project "AGH Accessibility Knowledge Center (CWD AGH)," funded by the National Center for Research and Development under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 program.

The CWD AGH is an interdisciplinary initiative that combines expertise in engineering, assistive technologies, sociology, and adult education. The Center will support adult education and the development of innovative technologies that promote accessibility, as well as promote universal design.

Target Groups

The project’s target group includes:

  • teachers, trainers and educators, as well as staff in training centers that collaborate with, among others, the Provincial Labor Office;
  • representatives of businesses and socio-economic institutions: individuals responsible for implementing accessibility strategies, including managers and specialists in the implementation of digital solutions and the removal of accessibility barriers, working in organizations, training companies, or public institutions;
  • representatives of non-governmental organizations and institutions focused on inclusion and accessibility: individuals involved in activities supporting disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities (PWD), for whom the implementation of accessibility principles is of critical importance;
  • people with disabilities (PWDs) who will benefit from the university’s educational, research, and advisory offerings, including those using CWD services (e.g., adult learners, entrepreneurs, high school students).

Project Activities

As part of the project, a LivingLab—a technology park—will be established, guides on improving accessibility will be developed, an information and consultation center will be created to facilitate knowledge transfer to the socio-economic environment, and research will be conducted on technologies supporting people with disabilities.

Project Implementatio

The project is being implemented by the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, and the Accessibility Department in partnership with the Krakow Center for Innovative Technologies INNOAGH.
